Types of bariatric surgery
There are 2 types of bariatric surgery:

1/ SURGERY IN WHICH THE STOMACH IS REDUCED
For instance a sleeve (sleeve gastrectomy). The reduced stomach can hold less food, so you will feel saturated more quickly.

2/ SURGERY IN WHICH THE STOMACH IS REDUCED AND THE AMOUNT OF FOOD TAKEN IN THE SMALL INTESTINE IS LIMITED
Such as gastric bypass and Scopinaro procedure (biliopancreatic derivation with duodenal switch). The absorption of the essential nutrients in the small intestine happens as normal.

Follow-up care?

For all of these forms of bariatric surgery there is a real chance of vitamin and mineral deficiencies, that is why specific food supplements are essential for the rest of your life. Since deficiencies are not only dependent on the type of surgery, but may differ individually as well, we offer a complete multivitamin with 200% RI, which prevents or replenishes most deficiencies. In case of particular individual needs, supplementation of separate products may offer a solution.
