Yes, you can.
Why does Bariatric Advantage® Vitamin B12 I.F. contain intrinsic factor?
Vitamin B12 deficiency often occurs after bariatric surgery. On the one hand, this is because the patient eats less meat (which is the major source of vitamin B12). On the other hand, it is because the protein 'intrinsic factor', which is produced in the stomach and is necessary for the absorption of vitamin B12, is absent in bariatric patients. The addition of intrinsic factor (IF) to Bariatric Advantage® Vitamin B12 I.F. ensures the optimal absorption of vitamin B12.
Can Bariatric Advantage® Whey be mixed with water or food? With both cold and warm food?
Yes. However, make sure the food is not too warm (cold or lukewarm dishes up to 30°C are recommended) so as not to denature the proteins.
Why do I need to eat at least 60 g of proteins a day?
Proteins are the building blocks of our bodies. Proteins are necessary to maintain muscle mass and to promote recovery after surgery. They also help ensure that weight loss is only at the expense of fatty tissue. Major sources of proteins are meat, fish, poultry, eggs, dairy products, etc. Ask your doctor for advice.
What is the origin of the whey proteins in Bariatric Advantage® Whey and Bariatric Advantage® NutriTotal? If they are of animal origin, can they also cause allergies?
Whey proteins are present in cow's milk and may therefore cause allergies. Bariatric Advantage® Whey and NutriTotal are therefore only gluten-free.
How is the whey protein isolate made?
This is a natural whey isolate of sweet Irish whey prepared with cold cross-flow microfiltration to maintain the natural structure of protein and maximize protein intake.
I am lactose-intolerant. Is Bariatric Advantage® Whey suitable for me?
Bariatric Advantage® Whey is suitable for most people with lactose intolerance. It contains very little lactose (<1%) and is low in fat. If you have any concerns, ask your doctor or dietician.
Can the intake of Bariatric Advantage® NutriTotal be spread out over the day?
Yes, mix 1 measuring spoon of NutriTotal with 100 ml of skimmed milk 3 times a day (morning, noon, evening). If you have milk intolerance, you can dissolve it in water.
Can Bariatric Advantage® NutriTotal be taken as a meal replacement?
Bariatric Advantage® NutriTotal is rich in proteins (30 g protein per serving but low in fats and carbohydrates and therefore not recommended as a meal replacement. By contrast, thanks to its specific composition, Bariatric Advantage® NutriTotal is the most complete product for bariatric patients to compensate for vitamin, mineral and protein deficiencies before and after surgery.
How should I take Bariatric Advantage® Multi Chewable Tablets?

Don’t take the chewable tablets on an empty stomach. Bite the chewable tablets into pieces and swallow all of it after proper chewing.

Can Bariatric Advantage® NutriTotal be taken with milk as NutriTotal also contains magnesium? Is it true that less magnesium is absorbed when calcium is also present?
Certain types of magnesium that are added to milk can interact with calcium, causing less magnesium to be absorbed. A good calcium-magnesium ratio is 2: 1, however, since magnesium is present in Bariatric Advantage® NutriTotal in the form of magnesium bisglycinate, the magnesium is very well absorbed and does not interact with calcium. This means that Bariatric Advantage® NutriTotal can safely be mixed with milk. Ask your doctor for advice if you want to know more about this.
Can Bariatric Advantage® Zinc be combined with the daily Bariatric Advantage® Multi?
Yes, after bariatric surgery zinc deficiency often occurs. The combination is safe and often recommended.
